It was a sight to behold: two birds, one stick, and a frog in the middle. A cow looked up, saw the trio passing overhead, and asked, \u2018Who thought of that?\u2019 The frog couldn\u2019t resist. Pride prevailed over prudence. \u2018It was meeee\u2026!\u2019 he yelled as he plummeted to earth. Don\u2019t make the same error. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018<i>Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall<\/i>\u2019 (Proverbs\u00a016:18\u00a0NLT). Why are you good at doing what you do? For your own comfort? To save for your retirement? To bolster your self-esteem? No, these are all bonuses, not the main reason. You\u2019re good at what you do, for God\u2019s sake. It\u2019s about Him, not you! <\/p>\n<p>Read and ponder these words in your heart: \u2018<i>Wealth and honour come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength<\/i>\u2019 (1\u00a0Chronicles\u00a029:12\u00a0NLT). Recalling the victories, blessings, and successes Israel had experienced, David reminds us: \u2018<i>For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favoured them<\/i>.\u2019 (Psalm\u00a044:3\u00a0NKJV). <\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that the blessings you enjoy every day are yours only because God favoured and smiled on you.
