Best-selling Christian author and Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has revealed he was the victim of a man who recently went berserk on an American Airlines flight, physically attacking the rabbi and forcing the crew and other passengers to restrain him by zip tying and duct taping him to his plane seat.

The founder and leader of the Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, New Jersey was flying home from Dallas to Newark, New Jersey after a trip to promote his new book The Altar of Pergamon: The Mystery of the Dark Angel and the Future of the World.

Rabbi Cahn was upgraded to first class and seated next to a 67-year-old real estate agent from Arizona and they were engaged in friendly conversation for the first two hours.

But then his fellow passenger started acting as if he was possessed.

What Prompted The Mid-Air Attack

Rabbi Cahn explained to CBN News what happened next:

“He asked how do you know God is real? And I told him I was once an atheist and anti-prophecy. But now, I couldn’t argue with it.”

“I shared two things. One was about the real power of God and how [my novel] The Harbinger went forth as a book of a supernatural encounter at an airport.”

“The second was how God brought my wife to me. That was supernatural.”

“All of a sudden there’s a switch in him like I’ve never seen in my life.”

“This Is Totally Demonic”

“His face changes, his voice changes. He speaks to me like he’s whispering a secret to me and crudely says he doesn’t believe me,” Jonathan Cahn continued.

“He starts cursing Jesus, cursing God, cursing me, blaspheming to the people in front of us.”

“He told me he’s going to punch my Jewish face in.”

“I sensed danger that this is totally demonic.”

“It was like someone getting taken over.”

“We Are Wrestling In The Aisle”

“He started hitting me and tells me Satan or the devil is going to try to destroy my computer which is where I write all my books, so I close the laptop and step in the aisle,” Rabbi Cahn recalled.

“He lunges at me and he lunges at the laptop and he grabs the laptop with all his might and tries to wrest it from my hands while I’m holding it with all my might.”

“We are wrestling in the aisle and the whole plane is stunned, not knowing what to do. The pilot is radioing the ground for an emergency landing.”

Eventually, two passengers, including a retired police officer, intervened.

Flight attendants provided zip ties and duct tape to restrain the attacker in his seat and the plane landed safely in Baltimore, where authorities took the man into custody.

Cahn’s Newest Book Is About Spiritual Warfare

The irony of the entire incident is that Jonathan Cahn’s latest book The Altar of Pergamon which had just been released, deals with themes surrounding the devil and spiritual warfare.

He believes some of what unfolded on the flight is rooted in that spiritual battle and he knew he would come under some form of attack.

“I had a very strong sense that I would be attacked, before the flight.

“This is why we get into the spiritual realm every time I write and release a book.”

“I’ve Been Opening Up Mysteries Of the Spiritual Realm”

“If you look at most of my books, I’ve been opening up mysteries, many of them involving the spiritual realm affecting the world.”

“So there are forces that would go against that or go against the exposing of it like in The Altar Of Pergamon.”

“The warfare is real, the enemy is real, and God is real,” he said.

Cahn Prays For His Assailant

Despite what happened, Rabbi Cahn said he has no desire to condemn the passenger.

Instead, he said he prays for him, and he even delivered a message to him.

It read: “God’s arms are open. He loves you, and He’ll receive you and wash that all away and give you a new beginning.”
